Lake Oswego consistently ranks #1 in Oregon for the best schools in the state and has been so for decades, with West Linn in the #2 position right behind them. According to U.S. News and World Report, Lake Oswego School District is #1 year after year with an A+ overall rating. With a 19:1 student/teacher ratio, LOSD offers smaller classes and 94% of the teaching staff has been working for 3 or more years. That experience also includes a highly educated and experienced administrative staff in the 10 schools in Lake Oswego. Because of all of these factors, the district boasts a 96.7% graduation rate.

Lake Oswego schools are also ranked high for student athletes. Because of the high performing athletic programs, college scouts look to Lakeridge High School and Lake Oswego High School to fill out their rosters from football to baseball to basketball and track and field.

With top notch academic support and college readiness, LO schools stand consistently above the fold. But one of our favorite things about the schools is the passion of the families who live here and support their students. Parent involvement is wide-spread here. Families show up and help each other out, from volunteering to book fairs, clubs and dances, to encouraging stewardship with toy drives and special fundraisers, to simply cheering from the stands on a Fall Friday night during Football season, the families in Lake Oswego show up and support, and that sense of community is apparent everywhere in town.

Each elementary school represents a neighborhood that supports it and each neighborhood has its own personality.
